Endocardial Wireless Stimulation for WiSE®-CRT
Per Coding Clinic, Second Quarter 2024:
WiSE®-CRT: This system consists of an ultrasound transmitter and battery, which is placed in a pocket in the subcutaneous tissue. The other component, the receiver electrode, which is the size of a grain of rice, is implanted into the left ventricle. This is a leadless device that stimulates the left ventricle to improve ejection fraction. It is used in heart failure patients who cannot receive transvenous epicardial cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) or have not responded adequately to CRT.
ICD-10-PCS code assignment:
0JH637Z: Insertion of cardiac resynchronization pacemaker pulse generator into chest subcutaneous tissue and fascia, percutaneous approach, for placement of the WiSE®-CRT System battery and transmitter into the lateral axillary pocket.
02HL3YZ: Insertion of other device into left ventricle, percutaneous approach, for placement of the WiSE®-CRT System receiver electrode in the left ventricle.
