Alagille Syndrome

Alagille Syndrome is an inherited condition in which bile builds up in the liver because there are too few bile ducts to drain the bile. This results in liver damage.

Symptoms Include:

Yellow skin or eyes, itchy skin, delayed growth, hard skin bumps, heart murmur, enlarged spleen, deep-set eyes, wide forehead, pointed, small chin and/or white ring on the cornea.

Diagnosis:

Often confirmed by a liver biopsy along with at least 3 of the above symptoms.

New ICD-10-CM Code: Q44.70 Alagille Syndrome
