Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction: Otherwise known as microvascular angina or Cardiac syndrome X.
Symptoms Include:
Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction/Disease (CMD), otherwise known as microvascular angina or Cardiac syndrome X, occurs when the small blood vessels that branch off of the main coronary arteries do not bring enough oxygenated blood to the heart causing chest pain, shortness of breath, heart attack and/or heart failure. Women are more likely to develop coronary microvascular disease and in particular, younger women.
